Begonia sp. U508

From a Malaysian Botanic Garden, this unidentified species (which is certainly not from Malaysia) bears large dramatic foliage up to about 30cm long, with such deep maroon undersides a lot of the colour bleeds through to the red-green upper. Proven fairly hardy in Washington DC with a mulch over winter, this should be tried outside in the UK. White flowers, marked red-pink.
