Cornus capitata Hardy form

A highly prized evergreen from the Himalaya and China, making a large shrub or more usually a small tree. Four large conspicuous, softest cream-yellow bracts per flower cover the branches in June, followed by a mass of pendulous edible red strawberry-like fruit in October. From a relatively recent introduction from China and fully hardy, unlike the old Himalayan stock in cultivation.
