Corylus chinensis x avellana

A rare hybrid that arose at Ness Botanic Garden from C. chinensis seed, this is particularly striking in very early spring on account of the very long palest yellow catkins; up to 6 inches/16cm long, strung from the branches. An upright very hardy small tree to about 7m tall for most soils and positions.
