Ferula communis

A most impressive giant sized fennel relative from the Mediterranean basin. Forms large mounds of exceptionally finely divided, feathery green foliage, and after a few years sends up a 3m branched stem topped with fat balls of yellow flowers. Full sun. Summer dormant. Hardy.
