Hedychium spicatum ‘Troglodyte’
An exceptionally brightly coloured form with large individual flowers, found in Manipur. One of the hardiest and most reliable of all Ginger lilies in the garden, forming a mass of exotic foliage on stems to only 1m or less, topped by fairly fragrant diffuse white flowers with orange and yellow bits in late summer. The attractive bright red seeds cling to orange seed capsules. Good soil in sun or semi-shade.
