Malus ‘Roundabarrow Ruby’

Raised from open pollinated M. transitoria, this has the splendid, up to three lobed, maple-like foliage of the latter, but is deep-red in new growth with older leaves green, heavily suffused red. Flowers are bright pink in spring, followed by darkest burgundy pea sized fruit in summer/autumn, then rich red-orange autumn foliage. A small tough elegant tree with a spreading crown, for most sites.
