Ochagavia carnea

One of the very hardiest of bromeliads, second only to Fascicularia bicolor subsp. canaliculata and considered by some to be equal. Some forms are hardier than others and this is old Cornish garden stock. Forming dense mounds of spiny rosettes of grey-green foliage, pale grey under, the striking pink inflorescences are seen in spring/summer. A Chilean species for full sun and well drained soil.
