Picea farreri

Only known from the original intro' by Reginald Farrer, from NE Burma in 1919, this has been multiplied in cultivation and is grown in a handful of gardens and arboreta in the UK. Described officially as late as 1980 this makes a beautiful tree when grown well, with a vertical stem, sweeping long pendulous branches and needles with bright white undersides.
