Pinus engelmannii

One of the most incredible foliage trees that is possible to grow in the UK, this is very, very rarely obtainable. Perfectly hardy, this comes from Arizona and Mexico, where I've seen it making medium-sized sparsely branched trees with extremely long foliage on very stout shoots. The super-long (35cm) needles make for beachball sized heads at the ends of the branches. Quite fabulous.
