Sorbus insignis (true) ex A.P.

Derived from a collection in Arunachal Pradesh, this is the true species, not the closely related S. keenanii, which is what most of the few people who have this name have. One of the most striking of the Rowans, with comparatively large, bold foliage composed of broad leaflets, turning red and orange in autumn. White flowers followed by wide flattened heads of pink-red fruit. A hardy small tree.
