Stipa gigantea ‘Gold Fontaene’

A larger and slightly more 'airy' form of this most beautiful of grasses; the Giant Oat from sunny hillsides in Spain and NW Africa, therefore very drought tolerant. Enormous spikes of diffuse, straw coloured flowerheads emerge in early summer and last into winter, giving an extremely long season of interest. Evergreen. Height 210 to 240cm. Sun and reasonable drainage. Quite magnificent.

Pot size: 2L
