A very distinct foliage form originally collected in Tibet, with deeply impressed veins, leading to a far more textured foliar display. A large, bold, evergreen shrub from W. China with comparatively large leaves covered in a thin waxy layer, obvious when bent or rubbed. Conspicuous flattened heads of tubular white flowers with lilac stamens in July-September followed by black, egg shaped fruit. Best not too exposed though perfectly hardy.
