Wisteria floribunda ‘Lawrence’

An outstanding blue-flowered form with long tapering inflorescences produced late in the spring season, and thus helping to avoid frost damage, it is a superb cultivar, given the Award of Garden Merit by the RHS. The scented individual flowers that make up the raceme are a mix of bluish-mauve and bluish-violet, each with a paler greenish-yellow blotch, overall giving the effect of a long blue inflorescence. Leaves turn reliably yellow in autumn. Best in a sunny position in well drained soil, and trained to form a strong framework of flowering spurs.
