Acer maximowiczianum

A Japanese species, previously known as A. nikoense, this is one of our finest autumn colouring trees. Makes a small to medium sized tree with a rounded crown. Leaves divided into 3 separate hairy leaflets, turning to shades of orange and scarlet in autumn. Very hardy, this is suited to most soils in sun or semi-shade, though autumn colour will be better in full sun.
