A low, mound forming, often multi-headed species from Tenerife, with fleshy pale grey-green foliage forming a particularly cup-shaped rosette, up to at least 30cm wide. In this form the young leaves are distinctly undulate. One of the hardier species, surviving freezing in a glasshouse with me, down to -2c, though better to keep frost free if possible. A superb species for permanent outdoor planting in very well drained soil in very mild seaside gardens.
