Ampelodesmos mauritanicus
A tall impressive evergreen tussock forming grass from the Mediterranean basin with arching creamy flower heads 2-3m tall in summer. Hardy and very drought tolerant, therefore highly suited to a warming and drying UK climate. I've seen this growing in very dry conditions in Spain and Morocco, yet it is highly amenable under UK conditions. Sun and reasonable drainage.
