Amsonia ciliata

The Fringed Bluestar comes from the SE USA. Clusters of star-like pale blue flowers on 80cm stems in early summer. Highly attractive and very narrow, needle-like foliage is arranged radially up the stems and turns to attractive yellow shades with purple-brown highlights in autumn. Makes a very hardy, rounded, bushy perennial for a sunny site. Shade will make the stems more floppy. These are seed raised from the cultivar 'Halfway to Arkansas'.
