Aralia continentalis

A large imposing hardy herbaceous perennial from the Far East, rarely offered in the UK, with layers of horizontally held big, bold, bipinnate, deciduous leaves composed of multiple broad leaflets topped by 50cm long racemes, composed of multiple rounded heads of pink flowers July-August, followed by purple-black berries in autumn. Height to 2m. The parents of these plants were originally collected in S. Korea. Tough, very hardy and easy, reaching maximum size in decent soil, not overly dry. Sun or semi-shade.
