Arbutus x andrachnoides

Hybrid Strawberry Tree. Truly one of the loveliest and most desirable of small evergreen trees and one I would not be without (I have three on my drive at home). Very beautiful cinnamon-orange-red peeling bark on usually very picturesque gnarled stems; fluted in older specimens. Clusters of white flowers in late autumn over rich-green foliage. Perfectly suited to either acid or alkaline soils. Hardy and very drought tolerant.
