Astelia chathamica
The Silver Spear. Fabulously beautiful, this has the look of a lax silver Phormium with more textured foliage reaching about 1m high. When the sun catches the leaves it is like nothing else. Often recommended for cool shady areas, it will also thrive in full sun. Not half as tender as it was once thought, though give it a sheltered spot in most areas. Evergreen.
