Athyrium niponicum var. pictum ‘Metallicum’
'Metallicum' is in reality now not a recognized cultivar name, but rather it is just a good form of the Japanese painted fern with the fronds marked with mauve-purple, silver-grey and grey-green creating a striking effect. Best in a shaded site in humus rich soil, not too dry, where it will spread slowly. Height 35cm.
