Cardamine quinquefolia

An early season stalwart Lady's Smock relative from SE Europe to N Iran, with the attractively divided foliage arising fresh and green with the snowdrops in early Feb'. Mauve flowers rise above the carpet of foliage to 30cm in March/April. Gently spreading to form a handsome patch. Part shade to full sun in most soils. Dormant by the end of May, so plant between things that fully fill out later.
