Clethra barbinervis

A desirable large shrub from Japan and S Korea, with attractive peeling grey and pink-brown bark and red and yellow autumn colour. Covered in long racemes of deliciously scented white flowers in July/August. For sun or semi-shade, this requires lime free soil.
