Clethra barbinervis ‘White Star’

A relatively new selection of a desirable hardy medium to large shrub from Japan and S Korea, flowering at a younger age, with attractive exfoliating grey and pink-brown bark recalling a crape myrtle, Lagerstroemia. Long racemes of deliciously scented white flowers are seen in July/August, followed by red and yellow autumn colour. Requires lime free soil.
