Cornus kousa ‘John Slocock’

One of the very finest selections and recognised as such by the RHS with an Award of Garden Merit. A form with particularly upright stems, opening out to layered branching, giving a fountain-like effect. Typical fabulous white-bracted flowers smother the glossy green leaves in June, followed by large edible red fruits. The foliage shows good bronze and crimson autumn tints. Easy and hardy in most soils, but not happy on thin chalk, making a large shrub or very small tree to 5m.
