Cornus kousa ‘Marwood Dawn’

Raised at Marwood Hill in Devon, this can be thought of as an improvement on 'Miss Satomi'. The spectacular bracts that surround the flowers in June are deep-pink and the leaves are red tinted through the season, turning rich purple-red in autumn with the large red fruit. A success in most reasonable soils apart from thin chalk, it will reach about 3m eventually. Hardy.
