Cortaderia richardii

The Toe Toe, from New Zealand. A majestic, tussock forming grass with huge, but oh so elegant, particularly arching creamy-white plumes to 3m in late summer, lasting into winter in seed. The translucent nature of the plant, with its flower heads held high on slim stems, belies its true size. Sun and average to moist soil. Most definitely NOT a 'suburban' Pampas grass, this deserves much wider planting. Hardy and easy.
