Corylopsis spicata

One of a group of highly attractive yet strangely neglected spring flowering beauties. This Japanese species makes a medium sized deciduous hardy shrub, with hazel-like foliage glaucous beneath and laden in spring with a multitude a dangling narrow racemes of primrose yellow flowers, their anthers dark purple. For any good soil in sun or semi-shade.
