A native coastal brassica with the most wonderful undulating, pale blue-green foliage that emerges as tightly bunched and crinkled, fat, purple heads in spring. Large rounded clusters of white honey-scented flowers follow, much loved by pollinators. This enjoys good drainage and can even be grown in pure crushed rock or shingle, like some of my plants here, though others have thrived in ordinary loam. A much desired unusual vegetable, usually blanched/forced under large pots etc. for the best flavour and texture.
