Dahlia coccinea var. palmeri
A particularly good, large flowered natural variety of this widespread Mexican species with very pretty small leaflets and comparatively large, vivid orange single flowers on plants up to about 2.5m high in the wild. One of the hardier species, so leave it in the ground with a good winter mulch if you like. Otherwise lift and store cool as normal.
