Deutzia ningpoensis

Sometimes known as D. chunii, this is a first rate highly floriferous species with particularly elegant foliage. A medium sized shrub with arching branches, covered in late June, after many other Deutzia, in a multitude of dainty white, gently flushed pink flowers with slightly reflexed petals, borne on 10cm panicles along the branches. The leaves are narrow, willowy and grey beneath. This species has received an AGM and an AM from the RHS, if you like that sort of thing. Tough, hardy and tolerant, for most soils and positions.
