Elaeagnus umbellata ‘Hidden Springs’

A vigorous, hardy, sweet smelling deciduous large shrub when the masses of fragrant white flowers are borne in May and June. These are followed by splendidly tasty small red fruit en masse in autumn, which look very fine combined with the leaves; soft green above and silvery beneath. This cultivar was selected for its comparatively large fruit. A naturally nitrogen fixing plant and very useful in forest gardening. Tough and vigorous in most soils in sun.
