Epimedium ‘King Prawn’

A vigorous large flowered hybrid raised by Julian Sutton, after he crossed an Ogisu collection of the true E. wushanense with the large white flowered E. latisepalum. The resultant selected seedling makes a bold foliage plant with the long evergreen leaflets emerging strongly red mottled, topped by pale to mid-pink flowers in spring. The colour is strongest in the centre and fades out to the tips. For humus rich soil in part shade.
