Eragrostis chloromelas

Blue Love Grass is a fully hardy African grass with very fine grey-green leaves and arching, incredibly delicate grey flower heads in summer making billowing clouds of the airiest quality to 1m high; a perfect contrast to bold form in the garden. The dried seed heads last on the plant for many months, giving as much pleasure as the flowers. For sun and reasonable drainage, this has been exceptionally easy and fully hardy with me here in a rural frost pocket for about 20 years or so in good alluvial loam.
