Euphorbia dendroides

Rarely grown in the UK, but well suited to sunny well drained places in milder areas and unaffected by light frosts (no damage outside at -4c here). The 'tree spurge' from the Mediterranean is actually a medium sized rounded woody shrub with grey-green slim foliage, smothered in spring by a multitude of bright yellow flowers. In habitat the species goes dormant for the summer drought, showing bright red-orange 'autumn' colour. A very handsome spurge with excellent flower, foliage and form.
