Fargesia scabrida

Yet another excellent non-running species relatively new to cultivation in the West. The colouring on the new shoots on this beauty is remarkable, with pale burnt-orange culm sheaths contrasting with the violet-blue fresh culms. As the culms mature they turn to a pale grey-green. Foliage is elegant glossy-green, long and slim. Clump forming, but vigorously grows to 4.5m high with foliage billowing out in cascades. Can be grown as a potted specimen with great success.
