Hakonechloa macra ‘Nicolas’

A clone of the Japanese Hakone grass with particularly good autumn colour, in shades of red and orange. Exceptionally handsome, rich green arching rounded mounds to 60cm high, composed of elegantly long-tapering foliage. Sun to semi-shade, not too dry. Deciduous, but handsome for half the winter in a bleached out state. A personal favourite of mine from Japan.
