One of the finest forms of Snowdrop Tree from S.E. USA with larger than usual flowers and softly hairy leaves as they emerge, becoming sparsely hairy with age. A very pretty small to medium sized spreading tree when seen in May with its naked branches strung with countless clusters of pendulous, white, Snowdrop-like flowers before the leaves emerge. Winged green fruits follow. Requires lime free soil, not too dry, in sun or semi-shade. More tree-like in form than standard H. carolina.
