Hedera pastuchovii ‘Ann Ala’

Introduced in 1972 from the Caspian forest of N Iran by Roy Lancaster and named after his guide there, this is a vigorous ivy with dark, blackish-green, slim, elongated foliage marked with pale-green veins when young, turning to ovate slightly grey-green with age. Endemic to the Caucasus and N Iran. Hardy and easy and highly suited to covering most objects efficiently with attractive evergreen foliage.
