A presumed hybrid of H. coronarium and H. ellipticum, sharing features of both, with the exotic, heady fragrance inherited from coronarium and the upright brush-like placement of the individual flowers from ellipticum. Hardy in the ground in most areas, especially if mulched over for winter, this will flower Aug/Sept if given a warm sunny spot or in July in a conservatory. Fairly large white flowers with a subtle, pale yellow spot and exserted orange stamen. Bold exotic-looking foliage with stems, subtly marked red, to 1.5m.
