Hedychium greenii NJM 13.086

Originally from Manipur, NE India, this is different from the standard clone in cultivation and has less colour on the underside of the slightly broader leaves. Shortish heads of fairly large and flamboyant slightly lighter red-orange flowers are seen late in the season. Came through the devastating cold of Dec 2022 here in my cold rural inland frost pocket without even a mulch, so if mulched it would be hardy to extreme temps. Best in a warm summer position. Deciduous outside, but evergreen if overwintered frost-free.
