A distinguished holly from the E. Himalaya and SW China, rarely offered for sale. Forming a small tree eventually, with thick shoots bearing large, leathery, spiny foliage, the spines decreasing with age. Large red fruit in autumn on females. Hardy in most parts of the UK.
