Impatiens insignis

A rarely offered Himalayan species with slim upright stems, swollen at the nodes, semi-translucent and with soft purple markings. Clusters of 4cm long pink flowers are seen in autumn, spotted internally with yellow and red. For moist, humus-rich soil in semi-shade. Apparently rather hardy, so should be fine permanently planted, especially with a winter mulch.
