Iris lazica ‘Turkish Blue’ EMR 1020

A highly floriferous, deep violet-blue form of this late winter/spring flowering evergreen species from the humid Colchic region of NE Turkey and Georgia. Close to I. unguicularis, but with glossy green leaves and no need for a hot dry sunny site; this tolerates heavier soils and even thrives with daily summer irrigation(!), as here. This has the richest flower colour in the species. Height 30cm. Sun or part shade. Bulks up well.
