Kniphofia rooperi
One of the finest species, with autumn flowers in particularly distinctive very fat heads atop stems to 1.2m high. Flower buds are vivid orange, opening yellow from the bottom up as the inflorescence matures. Evergreen and hardy. Great with late grasses and a stalwart of the October garden.
