The Wiggy Wig bush from New Zealand not only has one of the best common names ever, but is also highly distinctive, making a complex framework of very slim branches. It's super clippable into funky amorphous shapes and hardy to boot. Making a dense tangle of reddish-brown wiry, zigzag stems with miniscule heart-shaped deciduous leaves, with tiny white fleshy fruits in autumn. A rounded shrub to about 2m or more, this is a coastal plant in nature, so excellent in exposure though best in well drained soil, acid or alkaline. Grows perfectly well inland also!
