Muhlenbergia dumosa

The 'Bamboo Muhly' is an exceptionally beautiful grass from Mexico and SW USA, offering billowing masses of very narrow, light-green, whispy foliage on very slender bamboo-like stems to about 1m. These flexible stems are at first upright and then arch out to form a rounded clump. Evergreen if frost free but deciduous if planted out, this requires a well drained position in a sunny site. Superb as a container specimen, brought under cover for winter to a cold glasshouse etc.
