Nyssa sylvatica ‘Wisley Bonfire’

This is the superb clone of the American 'Tupelo' that was admired as a mature tree at RHS Wisley for many years. Strangely, often depicted in RHS publications as a 'normal' Tupelo, it is a distinctly good clone with a far more uniform crown than typical, with the lower branches having more the form of a Japanese Pagoda roof, radiating out from the trunk, sweeping down then up at their tips. Superb scarlet, orange and yellow autumn colour. A very hardy medium sized tree for neutral to acid soil.
