Osmanthus heterophyllus ‘Kaori-hime’

New to the UK, this extremely floriferous small leaved Japanese selection of a well known evergreen shrub is really very attractive. I've never been a huge fan of the species, but in this clone the tiny, perfectly formed, spiny dark-green leaves set off against rigid beige stems, and a mass of fragrant white flowers in Oct/Nov really tick all the boxes. Although slow growing, this will eventually make a medium sized shrub of around 2m after many years, though could very easily be kept smaller if necessary. A tough species for any ordinary soil in sun or semi-shade.
