Petasites paradoxus

Alpine Butterbur is a non-invasive, non-running, clump-forming (got the message?!) Coltsfoot from Central and Southern Europe with excellent triangular foliage, heavily washed with white when young, turning greener above and pure-white beneath in summer. Rounded heads of scented pinkish-white flowers in late winter/early spring before the leaves emerge, good for early bees. Very hardy and easy. Sun or semi-shade. Height 30cm.
